Logos with invisible background
Client question of the day:
“I have never been able to get our logo to have a clear background instead of white. How can I make the logo look good against a colored background?”
D Media expert answer:
Only certain files types can have a transparent background, and you also have to specify up front that’s what you want before saving the file.
To avoid logos have a solid white background box, you need them as either an EPS or PNG file type.
The EPS is used in printing. It’s a vector-based file and is scale-able to any size, larger or smaller, without losing resolution.
The PNG is used on the Web. It can be scaled smaller than its original size but not larger without losing resolution.
At D Media, when we create custom logos, we provide the client with a variety of file types for usage corresponding to the final output destination.
